Development of dual enzyme responsive molecular AND logic gate

Molecular logic gates are information processing devices that can respond to environmental signals and produce a readable output in response through Boolean operations. Molecules with these properties have been used build smart sensors therapeutic agents. In this work, dual enzyme-responsive molecular AND gate is developed the intention discriminate various combinations of enzyme level and/or activity. A resorufin-based sensor substituted self-immolative tyrosinase recognition site, 3-hydroxy benzyl group. The Hydroxyl group protected acetyl moiety which decreases affinity enzyme. When both esterase present solution, removed by latter enzyme, allowing former recognise ligand. Oxidation ligand triggers cleavage substitution, leading almost 70 fold enhancement fluorescence. single applied, there no significant change emission intensity overall, an constructed. Selectivity Michaelis-Menten kinetics analysed. Smart probes contribute research on development biosensors diseases having characteristic activities.

This communication reports the increase in fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) efficiency between two laser dyes in the presence of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Two types of molecular logic gates have been designed where DNA acts as input signal and fluorescence intensity of different bands are taken as output signal.
